Creating fan characters for the RWBY universe is one of my favorite things, and Noir has been a passion project for a while now. I was really drawn to the elegance and stealth of lynxes. I wanted a Faunus type that felt both sleek and a little mysterious, which is perfect for Noir Lynx. Unlike some more common cat Faunus, the lynx brings a unique edge, aligning perfectly with the 'noir' aspect of her name. As any RWBY fan knows, silver eyes are incredibly significant and powerful. Giving Noir Lynx this rare trait adds a whole new layer to her potential story and abilities. It's something I'm really keen to explore – how does a Faunus with silver eyes navigate a world that often discriminates against her kind, especially when she possesses such a potent, ancient power? It opens up so many possibilities for her character arc and interactions within the RWBY universe, making her one of my most intriguing 'RWBY Faunus characters' to date. Let's talk about her look, which I’m so proud of! As you can see from the art, Noir Lynx sports a very distinct style. Her black jacket with a white fur collar really gives her a sophisticated yet edgy vibe, complementing her dark hair and striking blue eyes. Beneath that, she wears a dark shirt, which keeps her look cohesive and sleek. And of course, the black pants and gloves aren't just fashion; they're practical for a huntress-in-training or an active character. I wanted her design to reflect both her Faunus nature and her potential role, hinting at her agility and perhaps a preference for night operations. When I was conceptualizing her, I actually looked up 'lynx anime' characters for aesthetic inspiration, and that really helped solidify her visual identity, ensuring she stood out as a unique 'lynx oc'. I envisioned Noir Lynx as someone who might seem aloof at first, but holds a fierce loyalty and a strong sense of justice, perhaps even a bit rebellious. She's not your typical 'RWBY oc male' or 'rwby horse faunus' type; she brings a different kind of energy to the team. I'm still developing her full backstory, but I can tell you she's got a past that has shaped her into the resilient and resourceful individual she is.
