Budget & Brown girl friendly brow lipliners 👄
Ladies put the Mac chestnut down, I bring you options 🤣
1. Buxom plumping power line liner in the color creamy chocolate ($24 at Ulta) BUT I’d recommend getting this at Tj Maxx/Ross, It was either $6-$8. The longevity is decent, I’d say a couple hours. It leans more warm toned, but the plumping power isn’t real lol.
2. Maybelline lifter liner ($8) in the color “Cross the line”, this one leans slightly more cool tone. I’d recommend putting it on dry lips so it doesn’t budge after 😩 the longevity and color pigmentation is slightly stronger than the buxom.
I don’t think you need both, but very good options if you want to give your mac a break lol

As someone who’s always on the lookout for affordable lipliners that complement rich brown skin tones, I can vouch for how tricky it is to find the perfect shade that doesn’t wash you out or look overly harsh. The Buxom plumping power line in creamy chocolate offers a warm tone that blends beautifully with deeper complexions, adding subtle warmth without overpowering your natural lip color. I picked mine up at Ross for under $10, which is a steal compared to the retail price at Ulta. From personal experience, while the 'plumping power' is mostly marketing, the formula is creamy and comfortable for daily wear. The drawback is that its longevity is moderate — plan to reapply after a couple of hours, especially if you eat or drink frequently. On the other hand, the Maybelline lifter liner in “Cross the Line” offers more pigmentation with a cool undertone that really stands out on melanin-rich lips. My trick to enhance the staying power is to apply it on dry lips and let it set without layering glossy balm or lipstick immediately after. This prevents smudging and helps maintain the line’s crispness through a busy day. Neither liner is an exact dupe for the more expensive Mac chestnut, but they provide versatile, wallet-friendly alternatives. I personally switch between the two depending on my mood–warm tones for everyday casual looks and cool tones when I want a sharper, defined lip edge. For anyone wanting to expand their brown lipliner collection without breaking the bank, these options bring both value and flattering hues to the table. If you're curious about getting even more longevity out of these liners, pairing them with a neutral lip primer or lightly powdering your lips before application can make a big difference. Also, reapplying just the liner mid-day instead of the entire lip look saves product and keeps the color fresh. Overall, embracing affordable and brown-girl-friendly brow lipliners lets you express versatile lip looks without sacrificing quality or spend. Give these two a try—your lips and wallet will thank you!
