✨ Breakfast Sliders ✨
I love breakfast for dinner.
Ingredients:
▢ 24 ounces ground pork sausage, 2 breakfast sausage rolls, like Jimmy Dean
▢ 12 Hawaiian buns, or other slider buns
▢ 8 large eggs, scrambled
▢ 6 slices pepper jack cheese
▢ 8 slices American cheese
▢ 1/2 cup butter, melted
▢ 1/4 cup maple syrup
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Warm large skillet over medium heat. Form sausage into 12 patties, slightly larger than one dinner roll. Add sausage to skillet and cook until completely cooked through.
3. Meanwhile, using a serrated knife, cut rolls in half lengthwise (without breaking apart). Place bottom half of rolls in 7×10-inch or 9×13-inch baking dish; set tops aside.
4. Scoop scrambled eggs onto bottom rolls; top with pepper jack. Place sausage on top of pepper jack and top with American cheese. Carefully top with top buns.
5. Combine melted butter and maple syrup in small bowl. Brush over tops of rolls allowing sauce to drip down sides and into bottom. Use entire amount.
6. Bake 15-20 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and melted. Serve and enjoy!
7. To make for tailgating, use a disposable foil pan, or wrap sliders individually in foil to keep warm.
Sliders can also be prepared a day ahead and popped in the oven before the big game.

You know, there's just something magical about breakfast sliders – they're my absolute favorite for a quick brunch, a fun dinner, or even when I'm hosting friends. This recipe is a fantastic start, but I've got a few tricks up my sleeve to make them even more irresistible and cater to different cravings! First off, if you're like me and sometimes crave that smoky flavor, bacon is a fantastic addition! While the recipe calls for savory sausage patties, you can totally swap them out for crispy bacon. Just cook your bacon slices until perfectly crisp, then crumble or layer them onto your sliders. For the ultimate combo, I sometimes do half sausage patties and half bacon for a duo of deliciousness. The key is making sure both are cooked well before assembly. Now, about that "honey bun" vibe – the Hawaiian rolls already bring a wonderful sweetness, giving you that delightful golden-brown bun look and taste. But if you want to dial up the sweetness even more, here’s a tip: after you brush the melted butter and maple syrup on top, consider adding a teaspoon of honey to that mixture. Or, for a real treat, make a separate honey-butter glaze with a touch of brown sugar and brush that on right before baking. It creates this amazing caramelized crust that makes each bite heavenly, almost like a homemade honey bun. Let's talk about the fillings! Beyond the classic scrambled eggs and the *sausage patty*, don't be afraid to experiment. I love trying different cheeses – sharp cheddar for a bolder taste, or a creamy provolone for a milder melt. Sometimes, I'll even sneak in some finely diced bell peppers or spinach into my scrambled eggs for extra flavor and a pop of color. And for a bit of a kick, a dash of hot sauce or a drizzle of sriracha mayo before the top bun goes on can elevate them to another level. Making these ahead is a lifesaver! I often assemble a batch the night before, cover them tightly, and just pop them in the oven in the morning. For tailgating or parties, wrapping them individually in foil as the original recipe suggests is genius for keeping them warm. You can even freeze assembled, unbaked sliders! Just wrap them tightly in foil and then in a freezer bag. When you're ready to bake, thaw them in the fridge overnight and bake as directed, or bake from frozen (though you might need to add an extra 10-15 minutes to the baking time). The melted cheese will still be perfectly gooey! These sliders are truly so versatile. Whether it’s for a lazy weekend breakfast, an easy weeknight "brinner" (breakfast for dinner!), or a crowd-pleasing party appetizer, they always hit the spot. Give these variations a try – you won't regret it!
