Creating art for my Dungeons & Dragons characters is one of my favorite ways to deepen their story, and this piece of my Drow Cleric of Anubis, Kemoni, is a perfect example. For me, it's about portraying the solemn reverence and ancient power associated with such a deity, blended with the inherent mystique of a drow. When I was sketching Kemoni, I paid close attention to details that would evoke that solemn and spiritual atmosphere. For Kemoni, a Cleric of Anubis, her worship might not always be outwardly boisterous. Instead, it's a deep, internal commitment to justice, balance, and guidance through the afterlife. I envision her prayers as quiet moments of reflection, perhaps seeking wisdom for the souls she protects or strength to face the trials ahead. It's about finding those moments of spiritual solace, even for a character navigating the often-treacherous Underdark or dangerous surface world. The concept of an Anubis prayer in a fantasy setting is rich with possibilities. What words would a cleric of the god of mummification, the afterlife, and lost souls utter?
