Somatic Removal of Burnout Energy
I am allowed to release what drains me.
In my experience, addressing burnout energy somatically—through body awareness and gentle breathing—offers a profound way to heal and regain balance. I learned that rather than pushing harder, allowing the body to release what drains it is essential. A simple practice I use involves placing one hand on my chest and another on my belly, affirming safety within my body by saying, "I am safe now." During this, I exhale slowly while mentally acknowledging, "This is mine. This is not mine," to differentiate personal stress from external pressures. Visualizing the burnout energy leaving my body like smoke helps me detach from feelings of pressure, guilt, rushing, proving, and over-giving. These sensations often linger unnoticed but deeply impact my well-being. The key is patience—letting the nervous system recognize that it no longer needs to perform or stay on high alert. When it feels safe enough, burnout energy naturally dissipates. Embracing vulnerability helps too; allowing ourselves to acknowledge what drains us without judgment creates the permission needed for genuine release. This practice has made a noticeable difference in my days, helping me feel more grounded and less overwhelmed by work or emotional fatigue. Incorporating such somatic techniques can be a powerful complement to other self-care routines. It fosters a deeper connection to our inner experiences and encourages a kinder, more nurturing approach to managing burnout.
