Microbiome Research Bootcamp: Day 1

Day 1 was pretty chill. The instructor told us that the next three days are going to be intense, like working on steroids intense. We spent most of the time getting to know each other with some quick intros and started learning the basics of R. I said I’d do mini vlogs on TikTok, but since day 1 was light, I’m hoping day 2 will be a little different.

One of the best parts was meeting some people from my own college, which felt really nice. Everyone was super friendly and from lots of different majors. I think that diversity is exactly what makes a good research team.

I’m really excited for today, day 2, and can’t wait to see what we’ll do next. Plus, the team lunches sound fun — I’m looking forward to bonding over food and science 🧫
