Did you know you have a voice..🫶
Not Every Voice Is Safe
Before today gets moving…
You need to remember something most people ignore:
Not every voice speaking to you is from God.
Some voices sound wise…
but lead you into confusion.
Some voices sound caring…
but slowly pull you away from truth.
Some voices don’t look dangerous at all…
…but they shift your direction just enough
to take you off course.
That’s how deception works.
It doesn’t show up obvious.
It shows up familiar.
And that’s why discernment matters.
“Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them…” — 1 John 4:1 (NLT)
Not everything deserves your agreement.
Not everything deserves your trust.
Not everything deserves your attention.
You don’t need to argue with every voice.
You just need to recognize it.
Because the Shepherd’s voice brings:
Peace — not pressure
Clarity — not confusion
Truth — not compromise
So before today pulls on you…
Slow down.
Listen carefully.
Pay attention to what your spirit is picking up.
Because when you learn to hear clearly,
you stop following blindly.
In my own experience, learning to discern which voices to trust has been a transformative journey. Often, we hear many opinions in our lives — from friends, social media, news, and even our own thoughts. However, not every voice has our best interests at heart, and some might lead us away from our true path without us realizing it. One thing I found helpful was slowing down and really tuning in to how each message made me feel deep inside. The voices aligned with my faith and values brought peace rather than anxiety or confusion. I often reminded myself of the biblical advice from 1 John 4:1: "Test everything that is said." This encouraged me to critically evaluate advice before accepting it. For instance, during times of stress or uncertainty, I noticed some seemingly caring voices actually pushed me toward decisions that felt off. Recognizing those subtle shifts was key. It wasn’t always about rejecting input outright but discerning the intention behind it and its alignment with truth. Practicing this discernment daily helped me avoid unnecessary arguments and distractions. Instead, I focused on what guided me toward clarity and truth — the 'Shepherd’s voice' that does not pressure or confuse but leads me with grace. If you’re navigating choices or feeling overwhelmed by external opinions, try this approach: pause, breathe deeply, and listen to your inner spirit. Pay attention to what brings calm and clarity, and gently question what stirs confusion or pressure. This mindful practice can protect you from deception and help you follow a peaceful, authentic path.
