The River From the Temple
📖 Ezekiel 47
One of the most beautiful pictures in the book of Ezekiel is the river flowing from the temple.
It started small. Just a trickle.
But the farther Ezekiel walked with God, the deeper the water became.
Ankle deep. Knee deep. Waist deep. Then deep enough to swim in.
This is how intimacy with God often works.
Many people want deep faith overnight. But depth is built slowly: • one prayer at a time • one surrender at a time • one act of obedience at a time • one quiet moment in His presence at a time
The river represents the presence of God.
And wherever the river flowed… Life appeared.
Dead places lived again. Fruit grew. Healing came. Restoration followed.

Some believers stay ankle deep because deeper water feels uncomfortable.
Deeper waters require trust.
It is easier to visit God occasionally than to fully surrender to where His Spirit wants to lead.
But shallow Christianity will never satisfy a soul that was created for intimacy with God.
Some of you feel spiritually dry because God is inviting you deeper.
Deeper prayer. Deeper obedience. Deeper healing. Deeper trust. Deeper surrender.
And the beautiful thing about this river is that it does not only transform YOU… It flows THROUGH you to others.
People carrying God’s presence bring life into dry places: • encouragement into despair • peace into chaos • truth into confusion • hope into darkness
The river was never meant to stop with us.

The river's flow reminds me that surrender doesn’t signify weakness; it opens the door to restoration and abundant life, much like the healing waters Ezekiel described that brought fruitfulness and renewal everywhere they touched. Reflecting on this, I encourage anyone feeling stuck spiritually to consider which areas in their life might be 'dead places' ripe for God’s renewing river to flow through. The journey to deeper faith involves courage and patience but promises that no place is too far gone for restoration.
