Trying to get better at for honor
New to Lemon8
Hey fellow warriors! If you're anything like me, you've probably fallen in love with the swift, deadly elegance of the Peacekeeper in For Honor but found mastering her a real challenge. I remember starting out, feeling like I was constantly on the back foot, but after countless hours (and maybe a few rage quits!), I've picked up some strategies that have truly helped me get better with her. I wanted to share my personal guide to help you dominate the battlefield too! Peacekeeper is an assassin, meaning she thrives on speed, bleed damage, and mix-ups. Her strength isn't in raw damage or health, but in her ability to apply consistent pressure and chip away at opponents. The key is to never let your enemy breathe. Let's talk about her core kit. Your light attacks are incredibly fast, especially from top guard. Use them to poke and interrupt. Her dagger cancel is your bread and butter – after any heavy attack opener, you can press light attack to perform a quick stab that applies bleed. This is crucial for her damage output. Don't forget her Zone Attack; it's lightning-fast and great for option selects or quick damage in a pinch, though it uses a lot of stamina. My go-to combo often involves starting with a heavy, then immediately soft-feinting into a Dagger Cancel. This forces a reaction. If they try to parry your heavy, they'll eat the bleed. If they block, you still got some bleed in. Mix this up with hard feinting your heavy into a guard break or another light attack. Keep them guessing! Her dodge attacks are also fantastic for punishing bash attempts or dodging into an attack. Defensively, Peacekeeper requires precise timing. Practice your parries and deflects – a successful deflect leads into a guaranteed bleed stab, which is incredibly satisfying. Don't be afraid to utilize her dodges to avoid incoming attacks and then counter-attack. Maintaining distance and picking your engagements is vital. Now, about those crucial executions. Peacekeeper's executions are vital for regaining health in a fight. After you get that final hit and your opponent is down, quickly perform an execution instead of just letting them die. My personal favorite is one that gets me health back quickly, like "Stab and Impale" or "Gutted." Choosing the right execution often means the difference between winning the next engagement or falling in the next round 2/5. To truly get better, it's not just about memorizing moves, but understanding your opponent. Who are you fighting? A Highlander needs different pressure than a Black Prior. Learn their movesets, anticipate their defenses, and adapt your strategies. Don't be afraid to experiment in the training arena. Practice against bots, especially their specific combos, to refine your reactions. Finally, for feats and perks, I usually lean into anything that enhances her survivability or damage over time. "Thick Skin" and "Stealth" are solid choices for feats, making you harder to target and improving your resilience. For perks, "Devourer" or "Endurance" can be very beneficial. It's a journey, but with practice and these tips, you'll start seeing a huge improvement in your Peacekeeper gameplay. Keep at it, and I'll see you on the battlefield!
