When I played my first night round, I quickly realized how different night golf is from daytime play. The visibility is limited, which can unfortunately lead to losing golf balls — I lost about 20 during my game! This taught me the importance of adjusting my swings and shots to the conditions. Another exciting aspect was the non-stop pace; it felt like a mix between a friendly competition and a fun chase, which I described as 'jio n chiong' — an all-out go after every shot without breaks. This energy kept me engaged and made the experience thrilling despite the challenges. For anyone considering night golf, especially your first 18-hole round, I recommend bringing plenty of practice balls, using glow-in-the-dark balls if possible, and playing with friends to keep the spirits high. Also, don’t be discouraged by setbacks like lost balls—part of the fun is learning and adapting. Night golf at OCC offers a unique blend of sport and adventure that every golf enthusiast should try at least once.
