how the gym saved my life.

about a year and a half ago, i started to come to the realization that maybe what i’m doing isn’t good for me and that i need help.

i’ve been through many tribulations in the past 6 years and the day i excepted helo was the best decision of my life.

the gym hasn’t always been my friend. i struggled with the fact of gaining weight ever since i joined, but more recently in the last couple of months i hit an all time low again, destroying all the progress i have made to better myself and learn from my illness.

when i first joined, all i wanted was to gain weight and achieve a certain look.

at this point moving forward, my main goal is to be healthy and be the strongest version of myself i can possibly be.

the gym saved my life by creating a visual for my number ONE metaphor in life, “i am stronger than i was 6 months ago, and i will again change in another 6”

this timeframe helped me set an ideal for growth and maturity, and has left me successful again and again.

when creating a strength plan in the gym, you will physically see a drastic change in as little as six months.

what i’ve learned is to apply that into all aspects of my life, and to accept my biggest fear in life; change.

wherever you are in life, take a timeline of six months into consideration, and utilize that to build a better version of yourself not only your body like the gym will do, but for your mind as well.

thank you, gym. 💗

Engaging in regular exercise not only strengthens the body but also cultivates a resilient mindset. Acknowledging our personal challenges, whether mental or physical, can lead to remarkable transformations. The gym serves as a powerful metaphor for life – it teaches us discipline, resilience, and the impact of gradual progress. As noted, adopting a six-month timeline can shift our perspectives, encouraging us to celebrate milestones in both fitness and mental well-being. Each step taken within the gym walls reaffirms the message that progress, though slow, is significant. Moreover, embracing vulnerability, as suggested by various experts in mental health, allows individuals to confront their fears and insecurities. It’s essential to recognize that everyone is on their unique journey, and the realization that we can rewrite our stories at any moment is liberating. Training our bodies can be instrumental in enhancing our mental health, building confidence, and fostering a sense of community among peers. Thus, whether you are just starting or are a seasoned fitness enthusiast, remember that the gym is more than just a place to work out; it symbolizes the endless possibilities we hold within ourselves to transform our lives. Let's prioritize both our physical and mental health as we strive to be the best versions of ourselves.
