I heard that Mikado Coffee in Nihonbashi, where I was planning to go this summer, will end its business at the current store by the end of September due to urban development, so I went there in a hurry.
The appearance of the spiral staircase leading to the third floor is very fashionable and exciting before entering 🍨🫧

日本橋エリアで「喫茶店っぽいカフェに行きたい」「おいしいコーヒーやコーヒーソフトを食べたい」と思ったとき、ミカドコーヒーはかなり“間違いない”選択でした。私が行ったのは夕方の時間帯で、数分待ちで入店。駅近（徒歩1分）なのに、ちゃんと老舗の空気が残っていて、旅行や用事のついででも寄りやすい印象です。 今回いちばん伝えたいのは、名物のモカソフト。甘いソフトクリームを想像しているといい意味で裏切られて、ほろ苦さとコーヒーの酸味がしっかり。コーヒー好きほど刺さる味で、「日本橋でコーヒー系スイーツ」を探している人におすすめしたいです。写真でよく見る“ソフトクリームの看板”も現地だとテンションが上がりました。 日本橋・コレド周辺でカフェを探すと、どうしてもチェーンや新しいお店が多くなりがちですが、ここは“喫茶店らしさ”が魅力。店内は落ち着きつつも、時間帯によってはにぎやかで、1人でも2人でも入りやすい雰囲気でした。席数は多めに感じたものの、人気店なのでタイミングによっては待つこともありそうです。 注意点としては、支払いが現金のみなこと。日本橋でのカフェ巡りってキャッシュレス前提になりやすいので、行く前にお札・小銭を用意しておくと安心でした。営業時間も平日と土日で違うので、朝活でコーヒーを飲みたい日（平日07:00〜）なのか、休日にゆっくり寄りたい日（土日10:00〜）なのかで組み立てるのがおすすめ。 そして大事な営業情報。都市開発のため、今の店舗で味わえるのは9月末まで。10月上旬からは約40m先の仮店舗で営業し、開発後は新しい建物でこの場所に戻る予定とのことでした。閉店というより“移転（仮店舗→新店舗）”なので、行くなら「今の外観・空間のうちに」がポイント。 もし日本橋でカフェ候補に迷ったら、コレド日本橋のついでに寄れる距離感ですし、新日本橋・茅場町方面の散歩コースに組み込むのも楽しかったです。私は「この地でお別れ」と聞いて駆け込みましたが、結果的に“あの空間で飲むコーヒー味”を体験できて、本当に行ってよかったと思えました。
