私が「新宿駅でとにかく安くコーヒーを飲みたい」「待ち合わせまで10分だけ座りたい」って時に便利だなと思ったのが、新宿東口側のベルク（BERG）。改札を出てすぐで、迷うストレスがほぼないのが助かります。駅ナカ感覚なのに、ちゃんと“喫茶店”っぽさがあるのが不思議。 行く前に知っておくと良かったのが、時間帯で使い方が変わること。朝はモーニング系が強くて、メニュー表にも「モーニングDX」「マイスターモーニング」みたいに選択肢が多め。私は昼過ぎに行ってホットドッグブランチ（ドリンク付き）にしたけど、軽く食べたい時にちょうどいい価格帯でした。ソーセージが肉厚で、ケチャップなしでも満足できる系。写真の「ドイツ人が認めた肉厚のソーセージが」って文言、盛りじゃなくて納得でした。 あと、検索でもよく出てくる「ベルク wifi」について。作業目的で長居するカフェというよりは、回転が早くて“ちょい休憩”向きのお店、という印象が強いです。立ち食いスペースもあるので、空席待ちのストレスは少なめ。その分、静かにPC作業…というよりは、サクッとコーヒー・サクッと軽食が合います。 待ち合わせにも使いやすいと思いました。「新宿駅 西口改札 待ち合わせ」で探してる人は多いけど、東口側で集合するならベルク前は説明しやすいです（ルミネエストB1、看板とメニューの情報量が多いのですぐ分かる）。「ここからベルクまで」と聞かれた時も、“東口改札→ルミネエスト方面→B1”で案内しやすいのが地味に便利。 最後に、初めての人向けの小さなコツ。メニューが多いので、迷ったら「ホットドッグ（ベルクドック）＋コーヒー（ホットコーヒー）」みたいに定番で固めると満足度が高いです。営業時間が7:00-23:00で、定休日なしなのも心強い。新宿で「安価なカフェ」「駅近の喫茶店」を探してるなら、一度行って損はないと思います。
