So after applying TWICE to radiology…
After getting denied twice for the radiology program, I didn’t give up. 💪🏽 I kept pushing, kept applying, and now I can finally say… I’m officially accepted into the Respiratory Therapy program! 🫁🎉
This journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s proof that rejection doesn’t mean the end, it just means redirection. 🚦 I’ll be graduating in September 2026📚✨
Sometimes what feels like a setback is really just setting you up for something even better. 🙌🏽

Facing rejection when applying to competitive healthcare programs like radiology can be disheartening, but as this personal story shows, it often leads to new and rewarding opportunities. Respiratory Therapy is a vital healthcare profession focused on helping patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders. The program, such as the one at College South with its detailed Respiratory Therapy Student Clinical Handbook (2023-2025), prepares students with comprehensive clinical training and academic knowledge. Acceptance into such programs requires dedication and perseverance, often involving multiple application cycles and waitlists. For anyone aiming to enter health sciences, setbacks do not signify failure but a chance to explore related fields that may align better with one’s passions and strengths. Respiratory Therapy offers a meaningful career path with growing demand, especially post-pandemic, and the ability to make direct impact on patient health every day. Pursuing this program after facing denial from radiology programs demonstrates adaptability and commitment, traits valued highly by admissions committees and employers alike. If you’re navigating similar challenges, consider broadening your focus within healthcare. Research program specifics, clinical opportunities, and certification outcomes. Joining support groups or professional forums such as #RespiratoryTherapy and #CollegeJourney can provide encouragement and useful advice. Ultimately, persistence and openness to redirection can lead to fulfilling careers that may initially feel out of reach. This journey exemplifies how resilience and a positive mindset transform setbacks into stepping stones toward success.
