1:30pm- matcha latte

4:30pm- salt and pepper tofu (I did also have a tiny bit of plain white steamed rice with this.)

8:30pm- Gym to work on cardio :) (1.72miles of treadmill, 344cals burnt)

10:15pm- smoked salmon, veggies in a cream sauce, imitation crab meat, small serving white rice

11:05pm- sample of homemade sourdough bread

11:20pm- strawberries and cream

... Read moreHey everyone! So glad you're curious about the pescatarian diet. I absolutely love sharing my food journey, and seeing a full day of eating like mine can really help visualize what this lifestyle looks like. For me, choosing a pescatarian diet was all about finding a balanced way to eat that feels good and fuels my body, especially with my gym sessions! If you're thinking about trying it, a pescatarian diet basically means you eat fish and seafood, alongside a largely vegetarian diet focused on plants, whole grains, and healthy fats. You’ll skip red meat and poultry, which opens up so many delicious possibilities! I often get asked why I chose this path. For me, it's a mix of health benefits – hello, Omega-3s from that tasty smoked salmon! – and enjoying a wider variety of foods. Plus, I find it’s a sustainable choice that aligns with my values. One of the best things is how much variety you can have. My day started with plenty of water, which is key, then a super refreshing plump juicy mango – honestly, nature's candy! Later, that matcha latte was my perfect afternoon pick-me-up, packed with antioxidants. Don't forget plant-based proteins; my salt and pepper tofu was a savory, satisfying meal. Tofu is so versatile for adding to stir-fries or just enjoying on its own with a little rice. When it comes to main meals, fish like salmon, cod, or even some tasty shrimp are fantastic. I adore smoked salmon for its convenience and nutritional punch. Pairing it with lots of veggies in a creamy sauce and a small serving of white rice makes for a truly comforting meal. While I sometimes include imitation crab for variety or convenience, I always try to prioritize fresh, whole seafood whenever possible to maximize those benefits. And for snacks or treats? Fruit is always a winner – those strawberries and cream were a delightful end to my evening! I also love to bake, so having a sample of my homemade sourdough bread is a real treat. It’s all about balance, right? Even with a healthy diet, there's always room for something you enjoy. If you're just starting out, my biggest tip is to experiment with different types of fish and seafood to find what you love. Don't be afraid to try new recipes! Focus on incorporating lots of colorful vegetables, whole grains, and plant-based proteins like beans, lentils, and tofu. It’s not about strict rules, but about building healthy habits that you can stick with long-term. Finding what makes you feel good and energetic, like my cardio session at the gym, is what truly matters. Remember, every little step towards a more balanced plate counts, and enjoying your food journey is part of the fun!
