Part 2: Walk n Talk

Let me start off by saying I’m really proud of myself for being consistent for a whole month. It takes 21 days to build a habit!! I will keep y’all posted and also keep updating so I have something to look back on to see all the hard work and how far along I have come along. This week I’m going to sit down and plan out my meals. So I can have a better idea of what I’m doing for the month of October. So I don’t have to guess. I will already know what I’m supposed to be #eating and how to go about #groceryshopping #cardio 🙏🏾#plussize #walkntalk #workout #kitteykatt31

... Read moreHey everyone! So thrilled you're following along on my 'Walk n Talk' journey. As I mentioned in 'Part 2 of' my updates, consistency has been absolutely key, and one tool that’s truly been a game-changer for me is a digital pedometer. You know how I've been tracking my progress and feeling super proud of hitting that one-month milestone? Well, a big part of that is thanks to having a reliable pedometer by my side. It’s like having a little personal cheerleader that keeps tabs on all my hard work. For anyone wondering how to really ramp up their walking routine, especially if you're just starting or are in a plus-size fitness journey like mine, investing in a good pedometer, perhaps even a 'freestyle digital pedometer' if that's what you're looking for, can make all the difference. It’s not just about counting steps; it’s about tangible proof of your efforts, which is incredibly motivating! It allows you to actually see the progress you're making, even on days when you might not feel it. Here’s why I love using one and some tips if you’re thinking of getting one to boost your own walking habit: First off, motivation and accountability. When you see those numbers climb, it gives you such a boost. My personal goal is often to hit a certain step count each day, and watching that counter helps me push myself a little further on days I might feel like stopping early. It transforms your casual walk into a measurable goal, and that's incredibly powerful for building consistent habits. Knowing that every step counts, literally, makes you think twice about taking the elevator instead of the stairs! Secondly, understanding your actual activity level. Before I started seriously tracking, I honestly thought I was moving a lot throughout my day. But my pedometer showed me the reality – there were plenty of opportunities to add more steps. It helped me identify areas where I could easily integrate more movement – maybe parking a bit further from the store, choosing to walk to a nearby cafe instead of driving, or just adding an extra loop to my daily 'Walk n Talk.' This kind of insight is absolutely crucial for planning your workouts and seeing real, measurable progress over time. It helps align my activity with my meal planning, ensuring I have a better idea of my energy expenditure. When you're choosing a digital pedometer, especially if you're looking for something like a 'freestyle digital pedometer,' consider a few key things: Accuracy: This is paramount. You want reliable step counts and distance measurements so you can truly trust your data. Always read user reviews for accuracy! Comfort and Wearability: Some clip onto your waistband, some are worn on the wrist, others can be slipped into a pocket. Find what works best for your daily activities and doesn't interfere with your comfort. Features: Do you want just basic steps, or do you also need distance, calories burned, sleep tracking, or even heart rate monitoring? Basic models are fantastic for focusing purely on steps and avoiding overwhelm, while more advanced ones can offer a holistic view of your health. Battery Life and Charging: Nobody wants a dead tracker in the middle of a great walk! Look for devices with good battery longevity. Using a pedometer has truly helped me stick to my commitment of being consistent. It’s not just for hardcore athletes; it’s for anyone, like me, who's on a journey to improve their health and build sustainable habits. It pairs perfectly with my meal planning efforts, too, as I get a clearer picture of my energy input and output. So, if you’re looking for that extra push to make your walking habit stick, definitely consider getting a digital pedometer. It’s been a fantastic companion on my journey, helping me stay tuned to my goals!
