Raising awareness for all sicknesses

I've been navigating kidney failure for nearly 3 years, but I'm blessed to have a live donor and I'm eagerly awaiting clearance from one more doctor so I can receive my new kidney. Despite my gratitude, some days I feel overwhelmed and depressed because few people understand the challenges of waking up feeling unwell every day. I endure stomach pain from gastroparesis, gastritis, and acid reflux, which causes bloating after every meal. I also experience nerve, muscle, and joint pain due to fibromyalgia and diabetic neuropathy, but I'm finding solace in heating pads to alleviate my

discomfort. Although some days it's hard to get out of bed, I remain hopeful. I face chest pain and shortness of breath due to congestive heart failure and prolonged QT interval, and I have back pain from pancreatitis. Additionally, I struggle with fluid retention from congestive heart failure and kidney failure, and sometimes my vision is impaired due to diabetic retinopathy. While many remind me that I'm strong and that everything will be alright, I yearn for a sense of normalcy. I have unwavering faith that God will heal me, but as a human, I'm emotional and fragile. I long to work, but my health makes it difficult, and I'm often discouraged by the lack of job opportunities. I'm committed to my strict diet and fluid intake, limiting myself to 32 ounces of fluids per day, which can be especially tough on hot days. I pray daily for God to free me from these challenges, and I'm striving to be patient. My heart's desire is to live a life free from pain, vomiting, and fluid retention, where I can travel, enjoy life, and cherish moments with my grandbabies, family, and friends who genuinely care about me. I know I must wait on God's timing, but I wish for a speedy healing process so I can start living life to the fullest. God, I'm waiting, and I trust that You will deliver me from these afflictions. Your child, Kitty. @highlight I know that there are others that can relate, please share this post, let’s raise awareness for everyone that’s dealing with health issues.

... Read moreLiving with chronic illnesses such as kidney failure, gastroparesis, fibromyalgia, congestive heart failure, and diabetic complications presents a complex array of physical and emotional challenges. Kidney failure, in particular, requires careful management including receiving a transplant from a live donor, which can significantly improve quality of life but also involves lengthy medical clearance processes. Gastroparesis, gastritis, and acid reflux contribute to constant digestive discomfort, often causing bloating and pain after meals. Heating pads offer temporary relief for muscle and joint pain caused by fibromyalgia and diabetic neuropathy, but managing these symptoms requires ongoing care and attention to lifestyle adjustments. Congestive heart failure compounds the difficulty with chest pain, shortness of breath, fluid retention, and complications such as prolonged QT interval, which affects heart rhythm. These conditions often necessitate strict fluid intake limitations—usually capped at 32 ounces per day—to prevent exacerbating symptoms, presenting additional hardship in daily life, especially during hot weather. Diabetic retinopathy may impair vision, adding to the burden of chronic illness by affecting independence and quality of life. Emotional and psychological impacts, including feelings of depression and frustration over limited job opportunities, highlight the importance of mental health support alongside physical treatments. Faith and hope play crucial roles for many navigating these health battles, helping individuals maintain patience and strength while awaiting healing or improvement. Advocating for increased awareness of such multifaceted health issues encourages empathy and support from the broader community. Sharing experiences helps others feel less isolated and promotes understanding of the invisible struggles faced by those with chronic conditions. Encouraging others to share their stories can build a supportive network ultimately enhancing social and emotional well-being. Understanding the intricacies of managing multiple chronic diseases underscores the need for comprehensive medical care and societal recognition. Supporting research, patient education, and community resources can improve outcomes and empower individuals living with these conditions to live fuller, more meaningful lives.
