Things I’ve learned from my ex

As much as I still hate my ex boyfriend for becoming the very thing he promised he wouldn’t be like an ex before him (a cheater) I still have to stop to recognize what I’ve learned after our breakup.

First things first, long distance relationships aren’t always promising, and after a while it can become complicated.

I’ve also learned that I shouldn’t bring insecurities or anything I’ve learned from society into a relationship, EVER! When your partner tell you good things about yourself, he’s not doing it because he’s corrupted by society’s standards or beauty standards, he showing you what’s attractive to him. I’ve learned that striving to be like everyone else is truly a dead end. Literally.

I’ve also learned that it could be the small things that push people away too. I could give advice, but I didn’t take his when I should have, and depression is probably one of the things that helped ruin our relationship besides the cheating.

Most of all, I’ve learned that attitude means everything and a shitty attitude will make a relationship sour quickly. I should have been a better listener, I should have been less of a control freak and I should have allowed the relationship to go as it will, rather than allow the fear of going downhill to take control. In other words, if you gain a great guy that loves you for you and he is willing to prove that no matter what, keep him. This applies to men with women also. The world can be a pretty dark place, so it’s best to hold onto and appreciate the good that we have in our lives.🖤

... Read moreNavigating the aftermath of a breakup is incredibly tough, and for many, the thought of reunion – 재회후기 – often crosses their mind. After everything I went through, especially realizing what my ex had become, I understand that longing for what was familiar, or hoping things could be different. But my own experience, where I learned profound things I've learned from my ex, taught me that sometimes, the most courageous path is forward, not back. When you're searching for 재회후기, you're likely weighing the pros and cons of getting back with someone. My biggest lesson was understanding the root causes of our breakup. For instance, the original article touched on how a shitty attitude and being a control freak can sour a relationship. If these fundamental issues haven't been genuinely addressed by both parties, what makes you think a reunion will be different? True change takes time, effort, and often, individual growth away from the relationship dynamic that caused the problems in the first place. Another pivotal point for me was realizing how insecurities and societal pressures played a role. Are you considering a reunion because you genuinely believe in a transformed future together, or is it partly fueled by fear of being alone, or pressure from what you think a relationship 'should' look like? My journey taught me that valuing your own worth, independent of a partner, is paramount. If you don't bring that sense of self-worth into a potential reunion, you might find yourself in the same vulnerable position. And then there's the question of trust, especially after issues like cheating. My breakup highlighted the immense difficulty of rebuilding that foundation. A reunion after infidelity isn't impossible, but it requires radical honesty, consistent effort from the one who broke trust, and a deep willingness to forgive and move past the pain from the other. It’s a road few can successfully navigate without professional help and a truly committed mindset from both sides. It makes you wonder: has enough time passed? Have both of you done the work necessary to truly forgive and rebuild, or are you just patching up old wounds? Before you consider any 재회후기, take a moment for deep self-reflection. Ask yourself: What has truly changed since the breakup, both in myself and in my ex? Am I seeking a reunion out of genuine love and a belief in a healthier future, or out of comfort, loneliness, or fear of the unknown? Have the core issues that led to the split, like poor communication or lack of respect, been acknowledged and actively worked on? Remember my final thought from the original piece: if you gain a great guy that loves you for you and he is willing to prove that no matter what, keep him. This applies to finding someone new, but also to evaluating if your ex has truly become that person. Don’t settle for less than you deserve. Sometimes the lessons learned from an ex are precisely what empower you to build a stronger relationship, whether it's with them after genuine transformation, or with someone new who aligns with your evolved self. The most valuable 재회후기 might be the one where you realize you've grown too much to go back to what broke you, instead choosing a path that truly serves your happiness and future.
