Join the Cupcake Crew on a tour of the Not Picasso studio with @Cheyenne Coffey 🍓 We are both small art businesses with studios located in Louisville, KY. Our business models are very similar, we each sell accessories featuring our designs. We definitely have different art styles but both share a love of fun colors and whimsy! It was so great to see how we each use our studio spaces differently. The most fun bit was seeing all the cute decor in each studio, we may or may not have a “little guy” compilation video for you later in the week 😘 Check out our previous video if you want to see how Not Picasso creates their earrings in house! We’ll see you tomorrow for the tour of the Kitty With A Cupcake studio!

... Read moreVisiting small art studios like Not Picasso offers a truly inspiring glimpse into the creative processes behind handmade accessories. From my own experiences working in a small art studio, I know how personalizing your space with charming decor and functional layout can positively impact productivity and creativity. Not Picasso's studio is a perfect example of how blending function with fun aesthetics—like strawberry-themed trinkets and vibrant office decor—can create an environment that fuels artistic passion. The fact that they have an in-house setup for handmaking acrylic earrings shows how important craftsmanship is to their brand identity. It’s always fascinating to see how artists incorporate unique elements like sticker collections and even a cozy kitchen or pink bathroom into their workspaces, breaking the usual mold of typical studios. In my own studio, adding colorful accents and whimsical touches has been key to maintaining motivation during long creative sessions. Plus, organizing supplies carefully—as seen with their sticker storage—keeps the workflow smooth and enjoyable. Watching other small business artists like those in Louisville reminds me of how dedicated and resourceful independent creators are. If you run a small art business or dream of starting one, touring studios such as Not Picasso’s and Kitty With A Cupcake’s offers great insights. You can learn how they balance artistic expression with practical business needs, from production to branding. It also highlights how supporting local artists and sharing your own studio stories can build a vibrant community around your work. So whether you make earrings, illustrations, or any handmade crafts, consider showcasing your creative space and story—you never know who you might inspire!
