Day 15 of 26 Days A to Z Cooking Series
This is the one of the hardest dish so far… any tips on what we should do better? ðŸ˜
Cooking omurice can indeed be challenging, especially when you're trying to perfect the fluffy omelette on top of the flavorful fried rice. One tip that helped me was to use medium-low heat when cooking the eggs to avoid overcooking or browning, which can ruin the texture. Also, whisking the eggs thoroughly before pouring ensures a smooth, even consistency. If you don’t have a non-stick pan, you can still manage by preheating your pan well and using a bit more oil to prevent sticking. Another trick is to use a lid while cooking the omelette to help it steam and cook evenly without flipping it. When it comes to the fried rice, seasoning is key. I like using milled spices like black pepper and a dash of soy sauce to enhance the flavor. It’s all about balancing the seasoning so it complements the eggs without overpowering them. Don’t be discouraged if your first attempts aren’t perfect. Part of the fun in cooking challenges is learning from trial and error and sharing your discoveries with others. Have you tried using different fillings or sauces? Adding ketchup or demi-glace sauce can elevate the taste. Stay patient, enjoy the process, and soon you’ll find your own techniques to master the elusive omurice. What tips have worked for you?
