I had to see a man about a camel

I rode a camel for the first time.

I don’t know what I thought but they are huge. I’m from Alaska so it felt like I was riding a moose. They’re so tall, but they were kind. It was a great experience. A little scary but it’s all about experience.

-I gotta get better with captions. So just bare with me yall

Getting up close with these magnificent creatures in a desert landscape filled with cacti and palm trees was truly magical. If you're planning your own desert adventure, here are some tips and insights from my own journey. Preparing for Your Desert Camel Adventure Before you even meet your camel, there are a few things to keep in mind. Dress comfortably and casually. Light, breathable clothing is best, especially since you'll be out in the sun. Don't forget a hat, sunglasses, and plenty of sunscreen! I also recommend closed-toe shoes to protect your feet. You'll be climbing onto a tall animal, and comfort is key. Many tours offer water, but bringing your own reusable bottle is always a good idea. And of course, make sure your phone or camera is charged – you'll want to capture every moment, from making a peace sign to posing for a silly kissing face with your new camel friend! The Ride Itself: What It Really Feels Like My first thought was, "Wow, they are HUGE!" The article author mentioned feeling like they were riding a moose, and I totally get that comparison. Camels are incredibly tall, and the initial ascent as they stand up is quite a sensation – a bit like being on a slow-motion roller coaster! You'll sway gently with their gait, which is surprisingly rhythmic. Despite their size, I found my camel to be incredibly kind and gentle. The guides are usually fantastic, ensuring everyone feels safe and comfortable throughout the journey. Riding through the desert, with the sea not too far off in the distance, gave me a unique perspective of Cabo's natural beauty. Capturing Memories: Photo Tips One of the best parts of this experience is the photo opportunities! You'll want to snap lots of photos. Many tours have designated stops where guides help you get amazing shots. Don't be afraid to experiment with poses – a peace sign, a big smile, or even trying to get a camel to "kiss" you (my brave attempt!). I saw someone wearing a leopard print headscarf and thought how stylish it looked against the desert backdrop. Remember to secure your phone or camera with a strap, especially if you're trying to take selfies while riding. The bumpy terrain can make things tricky! Why a Camel Ride in Cabo is Special Cabo San Lucas offers a unique blend of desert and ocean landscapes, making a camel ride here particularly special. It's not just about the ride; it's about immersing yourself in the local environment and culture. The tours often include traditional Mexican food and drinks, adding to the overall experience. It's an adventure that combines wildlife interaction, stunning scenery, and cultural insights, creating memories that last a lifetime. If you're looking for something truly unique beyond the beaches, a camel ride in Cabo is an absolute must-do!
