Using an air fryer to cook salmon has completely changed my approach to weeknight dinners. One of the biggest challenges with salmon is getting the skin crispy while keeping the inside tender and juicy. Adding a small amount of butter on top before air frying enhances the flavor, melding with the natural oils in the fish to create a rich, indulgent taste. From my experience, prepping the air fryer basket with a little oil can help prevent the fish from sticking and makes flipping easier, a useful tip since salmon can be fragile during cooking. Spraying a light oil on the surface of the salmon and seasoning it with salt also helps develop that crispy golden crust. I found that cooking at 200°C (about 400°F) for 10 minutes on one side, then flipping and cooking another 10 minutes, produces a perfectly cooked piece of salmon with crispy skin and moist interior. Using parchment paper sprayed lightly with oil in the basket can further reduce sticking and cleanup. You might notice when flipping that the salmon can break into smaller segments, but this does not affect the taste or texture at all. For those who prefer, you can experiment with adding herbs or spices before air frying for more flavor variations. This technique not only saves time but also reduces oil usage compared to pan-frying or oven-baking, making it a healthier option. Plus, the ease of cleanup means you’re more likely to cook at home on busy days. If you haven’t tried air fryer salmon with butter yet, it’s definitely worth a go – you’ll be surprised by how effortless and delicious it is!
