Visiting the Thai Market at Jurong Point

Thai Market

Went to check out the newly opened Thai Market on a weekday afternoon, quite crowded considering it was around 1pm! This market is the same one that Aperia Mall houses, but some shelves were still empty, perhaps because it’s newly opened. 😓

💰Price range is def all on the higher side, but considering that it’s within a shopping mall, honestly can’t complain. + they have quite a variety of items.

I was honestly very impressed to see that they have live cooking stations serving ready-to-eat foods like crepes, mango salad and even mooping 😋

I think it’s worth dropping by if you’re in JP, but to come down just for this, probably not!

... Read moreIf you're a fan of authentic Thai food and cultural experiences, the Thai Market at Jurong Point offers more than just packaged products. Beyond the typical supermarket items, the presence of live cooking stations preparing fresh dishes right before your eyes adds an interactive element to your visit. The crispy crepes, with flavors like Nutella and honey, are especially popular and make an excellent quick snack. Another interesting aspect is the variety of beverages available, including unique Thai drinks that you might not easily find elsewhere in Singapore. Although located inside a shopping mall, the market captures the bustling spirit of traditional Thai open-air markets, making it a convenient spot for those in the Jurong area looking to explore Thai cuisine and products. Additionally, prices tend to be on the higher side compared to typical local markets, but considering the fresh food options and mall setting, it’s understandable. For those curious about Thai street food, items like mooping (grilled pork skewers) and tum esan (Isan-style papaya salad) provide a great introduction to regional flavors. If you’re wondering about logistics, the Thai Market is situated near the former SingPost office space at Jurong Point, close to Amos, which makes it easy to locate. It doesn’t fully replicate the vibe of the famous Taling Chan floating market or a pasar malam, but the curated selection and live cooking stations definitely add charm and a taste of Thailand within easy reach. For anyone looking to explore further, nearby Japanese food options and other specialty stores at Jurong Point provide a diverse culinary outing altogether. Overall, visiting the Thai Market here is an enjoyable experience, especially for shoppers already at Jurong Point, and a delightful chance to indulge in Thai flavors and delicacies.
