✨Summer Park Afternoons✨
Some things I always bring to the park as a SAHM to 2 under 3 💛
🛝snacks!
•this one is pretty obvious but still worth mentioning! my toddler loves his bento box, which is so convenient because I can prepare most of it the day before if I know I’m going to the park the night before!
🌳outdoor blanket!
•I normally keep mine in the trunk of my car so it’s one less thing to load up later. My toddler loves sitting and laying on the blanket when he needs a break from playing and of course my 8 month old loves it because she doesn’t have to stay in the stroller so much! I got mine from Amazon.
🔆portable fan!!!
•Y’all… I can’t stress this enough. having a fan has changed our park days so much! I used to have one of those small ones that you can attach to a stroller but it just wasn’t enough to help us all cool down. Praise the Lord for my blue collar husband, he bought a Dwalt battery powered fan from Lowe’s for me! It is bigger than a normal portable fan but so so worth it! my babies are very sensitive to heat, especially my son with eczema, so it has been life changing. Can’t recommend enough!
Let me know some things you love to take to the park with you!!🫶🏻

Spending summer afternoons at the park with young children, especially toddlers and infants, requires thoughtful preparation to ensure comfort and safety. As highlighted by the author, having a well-packed bento box with snacks not only keeps toddlers energized but can also simplify meal planning by prepping the night before. This practical approach saves time and reduces stress during outings. An outdoor blanket is another valuable item to bring along. It creates a clean and comfortable space for children to sit, play, or rest away from the heat of the ground. Keeping the blanket conveniently stored in the car trunk ensures quick access and less hassle when packing for park trips. This is especially helpful for parents managing multiple young children, as it offers a designated spot for breaks and minimizes the need for constant supervision. A standout recommendation is the use of a powerful portable fan, such as the DeWalt battery-powered fan mentioned. Unlike smaller fans attached to strollers, this type provides increased airflow essential for cooling children, especially those sensitive to heat or with skin conditions like eczema. Investing in a robust fan can significantly improve the comfort level during outdoor activities, promoting healthier, more enjoyable park experiences. To further optimize summer park visits with toddlers, consider additional items like sun hats, sunscreen, and reusable water bottles to protect against sun exposure and dehydration. Insect repellent is also beneficial in certain areas to prevent bites and discomfort. Incorporating these essentials into your routine supports a safer, more pleasant environment for toddlers and babies while giving parents peace of mind. Sharing and learning about favorite park items through community hashtags such as #outdoortoddler, #summertoddlers, and #sahmlife can offer new ideas and foster connections among parents navigating similar experiences.
