ingredients:
- 73g strawberries
- 1 1/2 tbsp Truvia brown sweet complete (or any 0cal brown sugar substitute)
- 1 packet zero cal sweetener (i use splenda)
- matcha powder of your choice
- 1 cup fairlife skim milk
- sugar free vanilla syrup (optional)
instructions:
- start by chopping up your strawberries, then in a pan over high heat mix your chopped strawberries, brown sugar, and splenda
- stir until the mixture comes to a boil, lower the heat to medium and let cook for another 5-7min or until the strawberries caramelize (you are looking for a semi thick consistency)
- in a cup combine your milk with the freshly made strawberry syrup, mix well, pour your matcha overtop and you’re done!
-optionally you can add a couple pumps of sugar free vanilla syrup if you like your matcha more on the sweeter side as i do :)
tips:
- doubling the ingredients for the strawberry syrup and storing it in your fridge makes it easy to make multiple drinks over the week. typically i make the syrup in batches of 5-8 servings as i tend to use it quite often
- you can use the strawberry syrup for multiple purposes some examples of what i use it for:
• strawberry milk
•strawberry iced coffee
• jam for my toast/ waffles/ pancakes
