ここで一度、「退職給付金とは？」と「退職日の決め方」をセットで整理しておくと、退職後のお金の見通しがかなり立てやすくなります。 ■退職給付金とは？（多くの人が言う“失業保険/失業給付”のこと） 一般的に「退職給付金」と検索されているものは、会社から出る退職金ではなく、ハローワークで手続きする雇用保険の基本手当（いわゆる失業給付）を指しているケースが多いです。条件を満たすと、求職活動をしながら一定期間お金が受け取れます。 ・もらえる主な条件：離職日以前の一定期間、雇用保険に加入して働いていたこと／働く意思と能力があるのに就職できていないこと ・手続きの流れ（ざっくり）：退職→会社から離職票を受け取る→ハローワークで求職申込み→待機期間→認定日に求職活動を報告→振込 ※「自己都合だとすぐもらえない」というイメージが強いですが、制度改正で給付制限が短くなったり、教育訓練の受講で制限がなくなったりする点は要チェックです。 ■退職日を決める前に確認したい3つ（ここが実務で効く） 1) 次の会社は決まっている？ 入社日はいつ？ 入社までの空白が短いなら、健康保険・年金の切替がスムーズかが大事。空白があるなら「国民健康保険」「任意継続」「家族の扶養」のどれにするかで負担が変わります。 2) 退職月の社会保険料がどう扱われるか 社会保険（健康保険・厚生年金など）は「資格喪失日（退職日の翌日）」がポイント。月末退職だと、その月の社会保険料が発生しやすく、月末以外退職だと会社の社会保険料がかからない月が出る場合があります。ただし、その分すぐ国保・国民年金の支払いが始まるので、単純に“月末以外＝得”とは限りません。 3) 国保・任意継続・扶養のざっくり比較 ・国民健康保険：前年所得などで保険料が決まりやすい。自治体で差が大きい ・任意継続：会社の健康保険を最長2年継続。ただし保険料は原則全額自己負担（会社負担分がなくなる） ・家族の扶養：条件を満たせば保険料負担が軽くなる可能性大。収入見込みや退職後の働き方次第 私はここを先に比較しておくと、「退職日をいつにするか」の判断がブレにくくなりました。 ■退職日を決めるときの実用メモ ・月末/末日退職にこだわる前に、入社日・保険の空白期間・扶養の可否を確認 ・住民税（特に1〜5月の一括徴収になりやすい時期）や、ボーナス査定期間、有給消化も合わせてカレンダーで逆算 ・失業給付を考える人は、離職票の受け取り時期とハローワーク初回手続き日もスケジュールに入れる 退職日は「保険料（健康保険料・年金保険料・介護保険料）」と「退職給付金（失業給付）」の両方に影響しやすいので、先に“退職後の保険の行き先”を決めてから日付を最終確定するのが、個人的にいちばん失敗が少なかったです。
