Travel diaries 🧳 | MY 16D15N US ITINERARY 🎢🇺🇸⛰️

hey zesties! recently my boyf and I went on a 16 days US West Coast road trip from LA to Seattle! it was such a fun trip and i havent seen much people post about it so i decided to share it in case anyone is planning to do it too 🫶🏻🫶🏻

here is the breakdown of my US road trip!

—— LOS ANGELES ——

- honestly thought i would find 4 days in the city too little but i actually think it was just nice!

- day 1: SG >> LAX and just settling down since we were soo jetlagged

- day 2: shopping around melrose avenue, check out the grove, west hollywood, rodeo drive

- day 3: Citadel outlet mall and evening at santa monica bay

‼️ if you are planning to go another outlet mall i would recommend giving citadel outlet mall a pass as the discount isnt rly the best and its ~1 hr from west hollywood where i stayed

- day 4: California Disneyland!!! we went to california adventure instead of the disneyland and we had so much fun! i would recommend 1 day per park instead of squeezing 2 in a day~ but i’ll do a separate post on disneyland for all my disney girlies 🫶🏻

—— SEQUOIA ——

- first national park on the list and definitely didnt disappoint! i feel like most people tend to skip this park and head to yosemite straight but we loved sequoia so so much

- highly recommend taking the short hike at Moro rock (~30 mins 2 way) for the BEST VIEWS it was such an easy hike (more like climbing stairs)

- after Moro rock, we went to see to see General Sherman which was one of the biggest trees in the world! 🌳

‼️ I would recommend starting your drive early from LA esp if you are traveling in fall like i was as sun sets super early to get the most out of ur trip

—— YOSEMITE ——

- must visit spots: tunnel view, el capitan meadow, cook’s meadow loop >>>> soooo pretty

- highly recommend doing the mist trails bc its super beautiful but definitely depends on the season as we went around the season when the waterfall was not really waterfalling 😭😭😔

- yosemite is definitely one of my fav national parks and if u can spare 1 more day here please do!

—— LAKE TAHOE ——

- we spent 2D1N around the lake tahoe area just to relax and take it chill after 2 intense days of driving ~5 hrs a day

- lovedddd lake tahoe it has the perfect mix of shopping and walking and nature 🐟🗻

- emerald bay state park is a must vist and eagle lake trail is a ~2 hours for such an amazing view

—— LASSEN ——

- one of the lesser know national parks in california but definitely not to miss and definitely one of my favorite days 🤭🤭

- bumpass hell trail is a must do and its rly interesting

- other sites to visit: lake helen, kings creek falls, summit lake

—— REDWOOD ——

- one of the last state/national park before we pass to oregon!!!

- honestly this was also another chill day and we were supposed to just drive by to take a look see

- BUT OUR CAR BROKE DOWN AFTER THIS 🥀🥀🥀 so nothing much done after redwood as we just went to change our car 🤡🤡🤡

—— OREGON ——

- after driving for 7 days across deserts and mountains, we finally started our coastal drive in oregon! 🌊

- honestly oregon was just a passover state as we head to washington but it still has beauty to offer

- also gas in oregon is one of the cheapest ever as its a tax free state…. 💰

- must visit: ecola state park, devils churn, agate beach, natural bridges, arch rock state park, haystack rocks

—— MT RAINIER ——

- my bucket list national park!!! i would rate this better than yosemite 🏞️

- usually rainier is super popular in the summer bc its absolutely gorgeous but rainier in mid november is an absolute beauty as well ✨

- first time we saw sooo much snow and it was rly quite an experience hiking in knee deep snow and not even knowing where the trail was 😭🤧

- since its off peak + government shut down, it wasnt as crowded as we thought, we went quite early, reaching the start of the trail at 10 and it was alr 1/3 full!

- we did the skyline trail and it took us ~6 hrs but it was rly so much fun

—— SEATTLE ——

- our last stop is seattle! which we stayed for ~3 days but we really werent that big fans of what the city had to offer ☹️

- to us we just didnt really like the attractions the city had to offer and would rather have gone to olympic national park 🤭🤭

- some places we visit: pike place market, fremont vintage mall, glossier seattle, ben’s bread co, UVillage, un bien

‼️ the best day we had was our day to Seattle outlet malls because the deals there WAS SO GOOD we bought sooooo much stuff on our last day omg 🤧🙌🏻 so much better than citadel

hope this is helpful and let me know if you have any questions!!! super happy to answer them and to help a sister out xx 😚

... Read moreIf you're considering a road trip from Los Angeles all the way to Seattle, be sure to prepare for some truly diverse landscapes and experiences. Having traveled this route myself, I found that each stop offered a unique charm, and planning around national parks made the trip extra special. When visiting Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, don't miss the Moro Rock hike; it's short but offers breathtaking views — perfect for easy outdoor lovers. Also, the General Sherman tree is a must-see as it's one of the largest trees on earth. I recommend starting early from LA, especially in the fall, because daylight fades quicker, giving you more time to explore. Oregon’s coastal drive was a refreshing change after several days of mountain and desert terrain. Places like Ecola State Park and Haystack Rocks provided stunning ocean vistas and great photo opportunities. Plus, filling your gas tank in Oregon is a nice bonus since there’s no state sales tax on fuel. For those curious about Mt. Rainier in winter, hiking in knee-deep snow brought a thrilling challenge and an awe-inspiring winter wonderland feeling, even though trails were harder to navigate. I highly suggest the Skyline Trail for fantastic panoramic views, but ensure you’re prepared for snow conditions. Seattle, while popular, didn't captivate us as much as the national parks. If I revisit the area, I'd swap city time for Olympic National Park to soak in more natural beauty. Lastly, when it comes to shopping, Seattle's outlet malls were a highlight, with better deals than similar locations like Citadel Outlets near LA. Packing versatile layers and planning your stops around daylight and weather conditions made this trip manageable and memorable. Feel free to ask if you want detailed recommendations or itinerary adjustments! This journey blended iconic spots with hidden gems that you shouldn't miss on your West Coast adventure.
