Jesus is coming soon

It’s something I’ve heard since I was young, but now, more than ever, it feels like we’re seeing so many of the signs Jesus spoke about. It’s not about fear for me, but more about a deep reflection on what these times mean for our faith and how we live our lives. I often wonder, what exactly are these signs of Jesus' second coming that we should be looking out for? When I read the Gospels, especially Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21, it paints a picture. Jesus Himself talked about a time of great distress, wars and rumors of wars, famines, earthquakes in various places, and even an increase in lawlessness. It’s hard to ignore how much of that seems to resonate with what we see in the news every day. I mean, just look at the global events unfolding – it really makes you pause and think. Another significant sign that always stands out to me is the spread of the Gospel to all nations. It’s incredible to think about how much easier it is now, with technology, for the message of Christ to reach every corner of the earth. We see missionaries, digital ministries, and believers sharing their faith in ways that were unimaginable even a few decades ago. This always gives me hope, knowing that God's plan is unfolding. Then there’s the spiritual aspect. Jesus also mentioned that love would grow cold among many, and there would be a great falling away from faith. Sometimes, when I look at the world around me, I see a lot of spiritual apathy and a turning away from traditional values. It makes me realize how important it is for each of us to guard our own hearts and keep our faith strong. I also think about the rise of false prophets and false Christs. It’s a reminder to always test the spirits and to cling to the true teachings of the Bible, rather than getting swayed by every new doctrine that comes along. Discernment feels more crucial than ever in these times. For me, personally, understanding these signs isn't about trying to predict a date – because Jesus clearly said no one knows the day or hour. Instead, it’s about living with a sense of urgency and purpose. It motivates me to live a life that honors God, to share His love with others, and to be ready for His return whenever that may be. It’s about being watchful, prayerful, and actively engaged in my faith journey. It brings a deeper meaning to my daily decisions, knowing that the ultimate hope is in His promised return. It encourages me to focus on what truly matters and to live each day as if 'the coming of the Lord is near.'
