Fix Your Neck, Fix Your Face
Keep your neck straight and posture aligned when mewing. The ears, shoulders, and neck should form a straight line, not forward like this.
Good body posture makes mewing easier. Focus on gentle suction in the back one third of the tongue. When you engage that area, the jawline looks more defined and even the base of the nose appears lifted.

In my personal experience practicing face yoga and mewing, I have found that the alignment of the neck plays a crucial role not just in posture but also in enhancing facial features. Keeping the ears, shoulders, and neck in a straight line helps maintain a stable base for the jaw and tongue to work effectively. When I first started, I struggled with keeping my neck straight, often protruding it forward unconsciously. This negatively impacted the results because poor posture made it difficult to apply gentle suction in the back third of the tongue. Once I focused on straightening my neck and aligning my posture — essentially forming a vertical line from ear to shoulder — mewing became much easier and noticeably more effective. The gentle suction in the back one-third of the tongue pulls the jaw upward and forward, contributing to a more chiseled jawline and lifting the base of the nose subtly but visibly. Additionally, maintaining this posture throughout daily activities, such as sitting at a desk or using a smartphone, reinforces these positive effects. The key is consistency and mindfulness. Alongside mewing exercises, I also incorporated face yoga movements that emphasize neck stretch and activation of facial muscles to complement the stretch and suction technique. From my journey, I can recommend starting by becoming conscious of your neck position during each mewing session. Practicing in front of a mirror or recording yourself can help identify any forward head posture that needs correction. Gradually, as your body adjusts, you will notice improved definition in your jawline and a subtle natural lift around your nose area. This approach is a holistic way to improve both neck alignment and facial aesthetics naturally without invasive procedures.
