... Read moreBuilding on what I've already shared about my sweet puppy, Marley, I want to dive a little deeper into what makes her such a special part of my life. You know she's 5, loves playing with balls, and is a big fan of chicken, but there's so much more to "Meet my pet" Marley!
Many of you often ask about Marley's breed, and it's a great question! While I haven't explicitly mentioned it, her vibrant personality often makes me smile thinking about her heritage. She's got the boundless energy and mischievous spirit that reminds me of some terrier types when she's in full play mode, especially when she’s trying to get her sister Kali to chase her around. But then, she completely transforms into the most gentle, loving companion, melting into cuddles like a true retriever mix. It’s fascinating how different traits blend to create her unique charm. For me, knowing her personality, her individual quirks, and her heart, is far more important than any specific lineage. Every little "WOOF" she offers is pure Marley, and that's what makes her my best furry friend.
Her personality truly shines through in everything she does. That habit of "annoying her sister Kali" isn't out of malice; it's pure playful instigation! Marley just loves to engage, and sometimes that means nudging Kali with her nose or playfully batting at her tail until a game of chase ensues. It’s a joy to watch their dynamic. And those "cuddles with mom"? They are my absolute favorite. After a long day, there’s nothing better than Marley snuggling up close, her head in my lap. It’s in those quiet moments that I truly feel she’s "A LIFELONG FRIEND" – a constant source of comfort and unconditional love.
Training Marley on "sit," "stay," and "up" has been such a rewarding experience. She's incredibly smart and responds well to positive reinforcement, especially when her favorite chicken treats are involved! Consistency has been key, and she loves showing off her tricks, especially for new people. For a dog who loves to play with balls so much, daily walks and fetch sessions are non-negotiable. It keeps her happy, healthy, and helps manage that playful energy, which in turn leads to more peaceful cuddle sessions later on. It's all part of the wonderful adventure of having a dog like Marley.
And yes, about her not being photogenic – it’s a running joke! As soon as I point the camera, she moves, or gives me this hilarious side-eye. It’s part of her charm, though, and I wouldn't trade her goofy, camera-shy antics for anything. This little glimpse into her world is just "VOL.001" – there are so many more memories to make with my amazing dog, Marley.
Stahhhhhp why is he sooo cute! 😍
