As a longtime BTS fan, the COVID-19 pandemic drastically changed my experience as part of the ARMY. Like many others, I was eagerly anticipating the Map of the Soul BTS concert in 2020, but sadly, it was canceled due to the global health crisis. Instead of attending live concerts, I found comfort in supporting BTS by purchasing their albums and engaging with the community online. This shift from live events to digital and album-focused experiences helped me appreciate the ways fans express their dedication even without concerts. The cancellation of tours made me realize how important live performances are for connecting with artists, yet it also revealed the strength of the fanbase's resilience. During this period, TikTok and other social platforms became vital channels for sharing BTS content, funny moments, and fan stories, keeping the spirit alive despite physical distance. The hashtag challenges and trends helped sustain enthusiasm and brought together fans worldwide, proving how creativity can flourish even in isolation. Now that concerts are resuming, I’m even more grateful for any opportunity to see BTS live again. The pandemic reminded me to cherish these moments and celebrate the collective passion that binds the ARMY. For any fellow fans navigating these challenges, focusing on the music, the albums, and digital community can be a meaningful way to stay connected until live shows fully return.
