YouTube is just 🔞 two videos

These videos were up a long time ago and there were no problems with them. But whenever YouTube is broken or needs some fixing, the A.I kicks in and either age restricted my video or takes down the channel. There's a pattern and that needs to be fixed.

Videos that were initially fine suddenly get age-restricted or even lead to channel penalties when YouTube updates or faces issues in its algorithm. For example, AI fantasy art videos like 'RHEA PHOTOSHOOT - RHEA AT THE PIER' and 'SUZU PHOTOSHOOT - IT'S SUZU'S DAY,' which are creative and appropriate, end up flagged as 18+ content. This seems to happen because YouTube’s AI struggles to properly interpret AI-generated imagery or content that blurs traditional lines. The system may aggressively apply adult content restrictions, likely to err on the side of caution, causing problems for the creators behind these videos. I've experienced this firsthand—videos that sparked good engagement and had no previous issues were suddenly blocked or restricted overnight. From a creator's perspective, this creates a challenging environment. YouTube doesn’t always provide clear explanations for these actions, and appeals can take time or be ineffective. It feels like the AI, intended to keep the platform safe and appropriate, sometimes overreaches, impacting creators who produce non-explicit AI art. To improve, YouTube needs more nuanced AI that distinguishes artistic AI-generated content from genuinely inappropriate material. Also, better communication and transparency with creators during these moderation events would help build trust. If you’re an AI art creator or anyone sharing unique digital content, my advice is to stay informed about YouTube’s community guidelines and keep backups of your videos. Engage with community forums where others share experiences—it’s helpful to know you’re not alone. Lastly, patience and persistence are key; while AI moderation issues can be frustrating, continuing to create and advocate for fairness is important to encourage better policies and technology updates from the platform.
