Cherry & Quilted Maple Cajon — Shop Progress
I’ve been in the shop this week working on a custom cajon with a cherry body and bookmatched quilted maple faceplates.
The veneers are matched, the faceplate cores are ready, and the cherry body panels are cut with tight box joints. Everything is prepped and ready for glue-up.
This is one of my favorite stages of the build — the moment when everything is cut and clean and just waiting to come together. The wood’s already showing off, and I just try to stay out of its way.
