MUST read: She's On The Money by Victoria Devine 📚

Title: She's On The Money by Victoria Devine

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5

✨ What it’s about:

If you only ever read one book about finance, read this one! It covers everything you'll ever need to know about money: income, budgeting, savings, side hustles, properties, investing, superannuation and more!

💛 Why I loved it:

• Victoria creates easy to understand, relatable examples of what she is teaching. Prior to reading, finance words like "dividend" or "offset" used to sound alien and scary to me. now, I have a better understanding of what they are, which in turn boosted my confidence understanding them.

"Money Stories" provide real examples of women in various stages of life, and different stages of their money journies. It's both empowering and helpful to hear the financial journies that other (real) people are on.

• Each chapter has a 'takeaway' section: this summarises the chapter in three key sentences. Likewise, each chapter has money stories relating to that chapter's topic.

💬 Favourite Lines:

"If the people surrounding you seem better off, remember that they may have sent, privilege or both."

"Side hustles can be big or small, long or short, monetarily driven or purely done to feed our mind, body and soul."

"Ask someone who is already doing what you want to do and ask for guidance."

📌 Who should read this:

Anyone wanting to feel confident in understanding what the finance bros are talking about (see also: financial literacy)... or just looking to create better cashflow and savings.

👉 Final thoughts:

It's important to note that this book is written by an Australian financial advisor, so the statistics in this book are relevant to Australians. That being said, the fundamental principals of the book explaining *how* to do things (e.g. how to correctly create cashflow, budgeting, mindset) is the same internationally. This book helps to empower women to take control of their finances, reduce shame around debt and spending, and encourage you to create realistic (but optimistic!) goals.

... Read moreAfter reading "She's On The Money," I realized how much easier managing finances can be when concepts are clearly explained. Victoria Devine's approach resonated with me especially because she uses real-life money stories from diverse women, which made the lessons feel practical and achievable. One thing I found incredibly helpful was the takeaway sections at the end of each chapter summarizing key points. This made it easy to apply the advice step-by-step to my own finances. Topics like side hustles stood out to me—not just as a way to make extra money but as ways to nurture your passions and wellbeing. Though the book is Australian-focused, I found the financial principles universally valuable. For example, understanding cash flow, reducing debt shame, and setting realistic goals are advice anyone can use. Since reading, I’ve started tracking my spending more mindfully and feel less overwhelmed by financial jargon like "dividends" or "offset accounts." If you’re like me and often felt intimidated by money talk, "She's On The Money" offers a welcoming, easy-to-understand roadmap. It empowered me to take control, boosted my confidence, and helped me build a savings plan that feels realistic and aligned with my lifestyle. Truly a 5-star read for anyone wanting actionable financial guidance and uplifting stories to inspire change.

Books I’ve read in 2025
I know I’m late..oops😅 2025 was the year that I started to read again. Additionally, trying to find what genre I’d love. Total of 20 books read in 2025, with genres from Romance, fantasy, contemporary, historical…I wanna try reading from sci-fi this year to see whether I would like the genre too.
