Sundays are for self-care, and for me, that often means a refreshing gym session! After a peaceful morning starting with some spiritual reflection, it's time to switch gears and get my body moving. This 'Get Ready With Me' (GRWM) for the gym is all about setting myself up for a successful and energizing workout on this beautiful 'Sunday Edition' day. My pre-gym routine always starts with hydration. I make sure to drink a large glass of water to get my body ready, sometimes adding a squeeze of lemon. Next, it's all about picking the right gear. For today's 'GRWM Gym Edition', I opted for this fantastic two-piece set from SHEIN. I love it because it’s not only super comfortable and allows for a full range of motion, but it also makes me feel put-together and confident. Feeling good in what I wear definitely boosts my motivation to hit those reps! Once the outfit is on, I quickly tie my hair back in a high pony – nothing too fancy, just practical to keep it out of my face. I'll splash some cold water on my face to feel a bit more 'fresh' and awake, and maybe a quick spritz of setting spray if I'm wearing any light makeup. For me, the gym isn't a fashion show, but feeling 'clean' and ready helps me focus. Before heading out, I quickly pack my gym bag. Essentials always include my water bottle, a small towel, my favorite wireless headphones for my workout playlist, and a post-workout snack like a banana or a protein bar. Sometimes, I’ll throw in a resistance band if I’m planning on doing some glute activation exercises. These little preparations make the whole process smoother and ensure I have everything I need. Finally, the last step in my GRWM is mental preparation. I take a moment to set an intention for my workout – whether it’s focusing on strength, endurance, or just enjoying the movement. Sometimes, I’ll visualize myself completing my workout successfully. This mental check-in makes a huge difference in my performance and overall enjoyment. There’s nothing like walking into the gym feeling fully prepared and focused. After my workout, there's nothing quite like that 'fresh' and 'clean' feeling. It’s not just about washing up, but the mental clarity and energy I gain, making me feel ready to conquer the rest of my Sunday plans.
