Last year I was thrilled with zero harvest, but this year! A lot of myoga is coming out! ✨

Many people may think that harvesting myoga is difficult to understand, but when you actually look at it, you can understand "Oh, this is myoga!" 😊

みょうがは日陰を好む植物なので、半日陰の涼しい場所で育てるのがポイントです。私も藁を敷いて土の湿りすぎを防ぎつつ風通しを意識したことで、根元から赤い芽が次々と出てきて大満足の収穫ができました。植え付けの適期は3月から4月。腐葉土など有機質豊富な土に苗を植えると育ちやすいです。5月から6月にかけては土が乾かないようこまめに水やりをしながらも水はけを良くしてあげます。7月から8月には芽が地面から顔を出し始めますが、この頃が最初の収穫時期の目安です。みょうがの収穫は茎の根元にある赤い穂のような部分が太く膨らんできたら最適。香りや味も良く楽しめます。9月から10月は収穫のピークで、思わずたくさん収穫したくなる季節です。秋から冬にかけては葉が枯れてくるので切り戻しを忘れずに。休眠期に入る準備をすることで、翌年も元気なみょうがが楽しめます。プランターでの栽培にも挑戦できますが、ポイントは土の湿りすぎ防止と風通し確保です。私もプランター栽培でうまくいった経験がありますので、初心者の方もぜひトライしてみてくださいね。みょうが栽培は季節ごとの管理を楽しみながら、美味しい収穫の喜びを味わえるおすすめの趣味です。あなたもぜひチャレンジしてみてください！
