Bryson was genuinely hilarious and down BAAAAAD for Jo in the best way. I loved how open he was about his feelings and how much he rooted for their relationship to work.
Jo, on the other hand, was... a lot. Especially early on. I struggled with her constant teasing (calling a teammate "PeePee" repeatedly after they had allegedly resolved it???) and had a hard time connecting with her until later in the story.
The pacing worked well in the first half, but the second half leaned heavily on time jumps. It helped move things along, sure, but it made some emotional beats feel a little rushed or glossed over.
Still, this was a fun, trope-filled ride with great chemistry, steamy moments, and a team dynamic that added so much personality. Definitely worth the read if you're into chaotic athletic energy, friends-to-lovers tension, and a hero who falls first, hardest, and with his whole chest.
