SEA SLUG ADVENTURE

These aren't just for show; they're essential for breathing! Another amazing feature you'll notice when you’re out searching for sea slugs are their rhinophores. These are the two horn-like appendages usually located on top of their head. They might look like antennae, but they're actually chemosensory organs, meaning nudibranchs use them to 'smell' or 'taste' chemicals in the water, helping them find food and mates. Seriously, how cool is that? Understanding these unique features makes finding them even more exciting, as you learn to identify different species just by looking at their rhinophores or gill plumes.
