NYC Travel Foodie

This is only SOME of what we ate in NYC during our three day trip. We also had Italian at Tony’s Di Napoli, fun drinks at The Woo Woo, and cannolis from Carlo’s Bake Shop. I can’t even think of what I’d consider to be the most underwhelming because it was all so amazing. Trying new foods is one of my favorite parts of traveling 😋

Where should we try when we go back to NY?

... Read moreTraveling to New York City is a dream come true for any food lover, and this three-day culinary journey showcases just a fragment of the city's incredible food scene. Beyond the highlights mentioned, NYC’s food culture offers an endless array of tastes that reflect its diverse population. One standout experience that truly fascinates me is indulging in soup dumplings at Din Tai Fung. These delicate dumplings, bursting with flavorful broth inside a thin, tender wrapper, are a must-try for fans of Asian cuisine. Pairing them with a cold drink at The Woo Woo afterward creates a perfect contrast between spicy, savory, and refreshing flavors. The city's pizza is legendary, and places like Joe's Pizza never disappoint—offering authentic New York-style slices that are crispy on the edges yet soft and cheesy in the center. Also, I discovered the charm of Los Tacos #1, where fresh tacos paired with authentic horchata and tamarindo drinks introduced me to Mexican street food excellence in NYC. Don't miss out on the sweets, either. Carlo’s Bake Shop delivers the classic New York cannoli in all its creamy, crunchy glory. Meanwhile, cozy treats like hot cocoa at Bryant Park’s S’mores N More, or sampling a pancake flight at Bubby’s, cater to those who love comfort food with a twist. For an iconic seafood experience, Luke’s Lobster serves fresh lobster rolls that are simply irresistible—a perfect reflection of New England flavors brought into the NYC scene. If you’re planning a return trip, consider exploring the city’s lesser-known food spots and neighborhoods like Flushing for authentic Asian fare or Arthur Avenue in the Bronx for old-school Italian. NYC’s food scene is ever-evolving, and every visit offers new flavors to discover. Trying new foods while traveling not only satisfies the palate but also opens doors to understanding local culture and meeting interesting people. As a travel foodie, I find that these experiences enrich my journeys far beyond the usual tourist attractions. So, if you have recommendations or hidden gems from NYC’s dining scene, I would love to hear them for the next adventure!
