Valentine's treats ❤️

Strawberry Puff Pastry Hearts 🍓

Ingredients:

1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

4 ounces cream cheese, softened

2 tablespoons powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Optional: extra powdered sugar for dusting

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the pastry: Roll out the puff pastry sheet and cut out heart shapes using a cookie cutter. Place half of the hearts on the prepared baking sheet.

Make the filling: In a small bowl, mix the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Assemble the hearts: Spread a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture onto each heart on the baking sheet. Top with sliced strawberries, leaving a small border around the edges. Place the remaining heart shapes on top and press the edges to seal.

Brush with egg wash: Lightly brush the tops of the hearts with the beaten egg.

Bake: Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the pastry is golden and puffed.
