Easter Jello Cookies

Ingredients:

1 pack of sugar cookie mix (around 17.5 oz)

1/2 cup softened butter

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

4 tbsp Jello powder in any bright colors (red, blue, green, yellow)

1/4 cup white sugar

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Follow the instructions on your sugar cookie mix (mix butter, egg, and vanilla).

Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and place each into a separate bowl.

Add 3 tbsp of Jello powder to each bowl and knead until the dough is fully colored.

Roll dough into 1-inch balls using a small scoop.

Coat each ball in sugar, then place them on the baking sheets.

Bake for 10-12 minutes until the tops are firm and the bottoms just turn golden.

Let them cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes.

These cookies not only provide a burst of color but also a delightful flavor that kids and adults alike will love. To enhance your cookie-making skills, you can experiment with different Jello flavors like raspberry, lime, or lemon to create a unique taste experience for your family and friends. Each variation can add a special twist to the classic sugar cookie base. Additionally, consider getting the children involved in the mixing and rolling process, as this can turn cookie baking into a fun family activity. Decorating the cooled cookies with icing or sprinkles can also be an exciting creative outlet for everyone. Don't forget to use festive cookie cutters to shape the dough into Easter-themed figures, such as bunnies and eggs, making them perfect for sharing during the holiday or for festive party platters. For those looking to store their cookies, allow them to cool completely before placing them in airtight containers. They can typically last for about a week, although they are likely to be eaten much sooner!
