I'm almost done with book two!

Finishing 'Book 2' has been an absolute rollercoaster, especially when it's a sequel to something as special as 'Unbroken.' I remember looking at my total words during September and thinking, 'Will I ever get there?' But here we are, almost at the finish line! One of the biggest lessons I've learned in this journey of writing 'Unbroken Book 2' is how different it is from writing the first book. With Book 1, you're building a world from scratch, introducing characters, and setting the stage. With Book 2, you're deepening those relationships, expanding the world, and tackling the immense pressure of living up to reader expectations. It's a delicate balance of giving readers more of what they love while also pushing the story and characters into new, unexpected directions. I often get asked, 'How do you keep going?' Honestly, some days it's just about showing up and putting one word after another on the page. I've found that setting small, achievable word count goals each day really helps. Even if it's just 500 words, seeing that number grow slowly but surely gives me the motivation to keep pushing. There were moments when I felt stuck, wondering 'what to write about' next for my beloved characters in 'Unbroken.' That's when I’d step away, maybe re-read parts of Book 1, or even just take a long walk to clear my head. Inspiration often strikes when you least expect it! Another crucial part of this process has been outlining. For 'Unbroken Book 2,' I spent a lot more time planning out the major plot points and character arcs than I did for the first book. This helped me avoid getting lost in the middle and ensured the story felt cohesive and impactful. Of course, things always change during the actual writing, but having that roadmap is invaluable. And oh, the editing! That's a whole other beast. But for now, just reaching this 'almost done' stage feels like a massive victory. I'm so incredibly excited for you all to finally get your hands on 'Unbroken Book 2' and see where the journey takes our characters next.
