Learn a new craft with me!

Raise your hand if we think these will last longer than a week 😅

This is week 3 of learning embroidery where I’m learning a new craft every month. I figured I needed to apply what I’ve learned and grabbed some 🧦 for that experiment 🤓

Who knew markers like this existed for this purpose and now I want to draw all the things and then make the disappear.

(It’s the little things yall 😂)

... Read moreEmbroidery is such a rewarding craft because it allows you to create beautiful, personalized items with just a few basic tools. When I started, I found it helpful to focus on small projects, like customizing socks, which made practicing stitches more fun and less overwhelming. One of the coolest discoveries I've made in this process is using water-soluble or disappearing ink markers to draw embroidery patterns directly on the fabric. These markers make it so easy to trace designs, and the ink disappears with just water, leaving no marks behind. It’s a game-changer for beginners and advanced crafters alike! Another tip I want to share is the joy of repurposing everyday items for embroidery. For example, old clothing, denim scraps, or plain canvas bags can become unique art pieces with a little thread and creativity. This approach not only helps reduce waste but adds a personal touch to items you already have. Plus, buying fewer new supplies is great for your budget! Embroidery can also be incredibly therapeutic. I find that slow, repetitive stitching helps me relax and clear my mind after a busy day. Crafting has this wonderful way of combining mindfulness with productivity, so whether it’s embroidering socks, pillows, or wall hangings, it’s always fulfilling. If you’re new to embroidery or any DIY craft, my advice is to embrace the learning curve and enjoy the process. Try new techniques each month, celebrate small wins, and don’t be afraid to experiment. Crafting is about expressing yourself and making something from nothing, which is such a satisfying feeling. For anyone like me who loves creating, repurposing, and discovering new hobbies, this journey is incredibly rewarding—give it a try!
