They are orange for a reason!
To anyone that doesn’t know yet, the hybrid safety plug on a Toyota hybrid is also used as a tool. The plug is designed to have a nipple and a grove at the top of the plug as it is designed to remove the orange clips located around the hybrid battery. The plugs are designed to be removed only by this tool. The clips will not come off unless you line up the nipple and grooves and rotate the inside of the clip till it pops out. I’ve seen a lot of techs just brake these off because they are unaware of this design… the clips are designed to be reused if taken off the correct way. Toyota designed it this way to make sure you remove the plug before servicing the hybrid battery, it might sound silly but I’m sure it saved a few lives! #digitalplanning #lemon8challenge #tipsandtricks #cars
