If you knew me, you’d know…🎮
In between homeschooling, chicken keeping, gardening, and cooking 3 meals a day, everyday as a stay at home mom, I’m also a gamer that lost touch with her systems. But guess what?????
I’m back!!!!!
And hubby couldn’t be happier. The kids normally pull up too, but they were in the kitchen on their laptops deep into a game on Roblox. 🤣.
This is what our weekends look now. He brings his Xbox into the living room and I grab my gaming pc. Thanks to Game Pass we still get to play together even though we are on two different systems. No headsets needed. 😊🎮
Did you know you can play your Xbox games on PC? I’m sharing this because someone I was just talking to has a Mac and didn’t know this. I’m a Mac user too, but since I’m a gamer, I also have a PC. Build one yourself and save. I’ll post what I purchased in an upcoming post. You can do this and not break the bank. I built my system for under $500 and I can still use it for work too.
As a fellow gamer and busy parent, I completely relate to the challenge of balancing daily responsibilities with personal hobbies. What really resonated with me in this post was the clever way the author has integrated gaming into family weekends without sacrificing quality time. Using Game Pass to connect across different systems is a smart solution that many families might not realize is possible, especially when you have a mix of devices like Xbox consoles, PCs, and Macs in the household. For those considering building a gaming PC on a budget like she did, it’s absolutely doable! I built my own starter gaming rig for under $600 myself, focusing on essential components like a reliable GPU, sufficient RAM, and a good processor that also handles work tasks. Websites like PCPartPicker and various DIY forums helped me find deals and compatible parts, and it’s rewarding to customize a setup tailored to your needs. Another great aspect is how gaming becomes a communal activity. From kids engrossed in Roblox on their laptops to parents enjoying Xbox and PC games side-by-side, gaming creates a unique way to unwind and bond. No headsets needed means even casual chit-chat and laughter can flow naturally during playtime. This also encourages kids to engage socially in an interactive environment. If you’re a Mac user worried about gaming compatibility, pairing your Mac with an affordable, custom-built PC is a smart workaround to expand your gaming options. Xbox Cloud Gaming and Game Pass also broaden access to many games without requiring top-tier hardware. Finally, the author’s casual, honest tone about juggling so many roles — from cooking multiple meals daily to homeschooling and chicken keeping — shows that it’s possible to have passions outside parenting duties. It’s inspiring to see that with good planning and some tech hacks, you can reclaim personal hobbies and share them with your family in meaningful ways.
