Things to do in February 💋
We’re in the last few days of January! I got all of my January to-do list items done ✅
If you need ideas for February things to do, I’ve got some ideas 🏹
🌲 Take down & put away winter decor - will keep the warm, cozy vibes but do away with the twinkle lights and evergreen decor
🪴 Repot plants & add fresh soil - my plants had a hard time this winter, it’s time for fresh soil and bigger pots
💐 Bring home fresh flowers - it makes my spaces feel brighter & more alive. The grocery store always has pretty little bouquets or separate flowers to make your own
👯♀️ Galentines Day - stuck between wanting to go coffee & brunch, girls night in or a girls night out!
🛒 Meal plan & grocery shop for the month - tedious but I was so thankful I did this in January. It saved me a lot of time & brainstorming.
✨ Romanticize moments & spaces - having an aesthetically pleasing environment and making small moments special makes everything more fun. It’s a small way to treat yourself
🐝 Bridgerton Watch Party - I restarted season 1 in January to be ready for season 4!
💌 Valentine date night - Valentine’s Day is on a Saturday this year! If you haven’t made reservations yet, it’s a good idea to get on it if you’re going on the 14th❣️
📚 Refresh bookshelves - my bookshelves are so messy and books I read are jumbled up with ones I haven’t. I want to dedicate time to start cleaning up my little library
🌿 Start the transition from winter to spring - for me this means bringing out my florals & pastels. Groundbreaking, I know lol.
February can sometimes feel like a long, grey month, but it's actually one of my favorite times to lean into cozy self-care and thoughtful transitions! Beyond just listing things to do, I've found that how you approach these activities truly makes them enjoyable and relaxing. For example, when tackling that winter decor takedown, I don't just shove things into boxes. I make it a mindful process. I'll put on some calming music, light a candle, and carefully pack away my beloved twinkle lights and evergreen garlands. It's not about rushing; it's about appreciating the season that was, and making space for what’s next. Speaking of making space, if your plants are looking a little sad like mine were, repotting plants is such a therapeutic activity. Seeing them get fresh soil and a bit more room to grow is instantly rewarding. I usually set aside a sunny afternoon, put down a tarp, and get my hands dirty. It’s amazing how much life a little fresh soil can bring back! Bringing fresh flowers home is another simple pleasure that truly transforms a space. You don't need an elaborate bouquet; even a few stems of tulips or daffodils can instantly brighten a room and infuse it with that subtle hint of spring. I love picking them up during my weekly grocery run – it’s a small, affordable luxury that makes my home feel vibrant. And who doesn't love a good reason to connect with friends? Galentine's Day is perfect for this. While brunch is always a treat, I've found some of my most relaxing moments with girlfriends happen during a *girls night in*. Think comfy PJs, face masks, a rom-com marathon, and maybe even a DIY cocktail bar. It’s less pressure than going out and allows for truly deep conversations and belly laughs. For those quiet moments alone, or even with a partner, romanticizing moments and spaces is key. It's about elevating the everyday. Maybe it's enjoying your morning coffee in your favorite mug by the window, or transforming your living room into a cozy reading haven with soft blankets and warm lighting. Speaking of reading, if your bookshelves are anything like mine, they could probably use a refresh. I've started making a habit of dedicating a small chunk of a weekend afternoon to tidying them up. It's not just about organization, but rediscovering old favorites and making a visual space that sparks joy. I also love to curate my books by color for an aesthetic touch, making my “little library” feel even more inviting. Finally, that subtle transition from winter to spring doesn't have to wait until March. I start by swapping out heavy throws for lighter ones, introducing pastel accent pillows, and yes, bringing out those cheerful florals in my decor and even my wardrobe. It's a gentle nudge towards warmer days and a wonderful way to keep your spirits lifted during the tail end of winter. These small, intentional actions truly make February feel less like a waiting period and more like a month full of enjoyable, relaxing discoveries.
