จากประสบการณ์คร่าวๆ ในการสร้างบ้านงบน้อย พบว่าเมื่อโครงสร้างและหลังคาเสร็จเรียบร้อยแล้ว ช่วงที่ทำให้เกิดค่าใช้จ่ายบานปลายมากที่สุดคือการตกแต่งฝ้าเพดานและพื้นบ้าน โดยเฉพาะฝ้าระบายอากาศที่เลือกใช้ในเมืองกาญจน์ซึ่งอากาศร้อน การเลือกวัสดุและสกรูที่เหมาะสมจึงสำคัญมาก สำหรับสกรูยึดฝ้าของ SCG ถึงแม้ราคาจะสูงกว่าสกรูทั่วไป แต่ก็ดีกว่าในเรื่องคุณภาพและความสวยงาม ทำให้หัวสกรูไม่เกะกะสายตาและทนทานต่อน้ำความชื้น นอกจากนี้ การตัดสินใจเรื่องพื้นบ้านก็ส่งผลต่อต้นทุนโดยรวมมาก เหมือนกรณีที่ผู้เขียนตัดสินใจเปลี่ยนจากการขัดมันและรอปู SPC ทีหลัง เป็นการเลือกปูกระเบื้องราคาประหยัดแทน แม้ต้องเดินเลือกกระเบื้องหลายรอบ แต่ก็ช่วยให้บ้านดูสมบูรณ์และใช้งานได้ทันทีหลังเข้าอยู่ ซึ่งสะดวกกว่าและลดขั้นตอนยุ่งยากทีหลัง อยากแนะนำว่า ใครที่กำลังสร้างบ้านงบน้อยอยู่ ควรเผื่อใจไว้เสมอว่างบประมาณจะเปลี่ยนแปลงได้ในขั้นตอนตกแต่ง เพราะความอยากให้บ้านสวยขึ้นนั้นทำให้งบประมาณบานปลายได้ง่ายมาก ช่วงนี้จึงควรเตรียมใจและบริหารงบโดยมีขอบเขตหรือสำรองเงินไว้สำหรับขึ้นรูประหว่างการทำงานจริง อีกเรื่องที่สำคัญคือการใช้วัสดุที่เหมาะสมกับสภาพอากาศและการใช้งานอย่างฝ้าระบายอากาศในบ้านสวนที่อยู่เมืองร้อนจะช่วยลดความร้อนสะสมภายในบ้านได้ดี สุดท้ายนี้สำหรับใครที่ชอบดูซีรีส์สร้างบ้าน งบจำกัดแต่อยากได้คุณภาพดี พยายามเลือกวัสดุและอุปกรณ์ที่คุ้มค่าราคาสมเหตุสมผล พร้อมวางแผนงบประมาณอย่างรอบคอบ เพราะทุกขั้นตอนจำเป็นต้องปรับเปลี่ยนตามความต้องการและงบประมาณที่มีจริง พร้อมเผื่อเวลาและงบสำหรับการลองผิดลองถูกบ้าง ก็จะได้บ้านที่ถูกใจและมีความสุขกับที่อยู่อาศัยในระยะยาวมากขึ้นครับ
