Tyra Banks ANTM ‘Karma’ Says Eugena
Former America's Next Top Model season 7 model, Eugene Washington, sparked controversy once again after her recent remarks directed at Tyra Banks, the creator and host of the defunct show
In a video she posted on Instagram, Washington stated that she enjoys "watching ((Tyra)) in her failed era" and asserted that Banks "deserves it”
Tension between the two arose years ago, when Washington accused the show of subjecting contestants to dangerous challenges and extreme diets, stating that she "felt like my life was at stake for ratings”
This time, Washington took to Instagram to express her anger, stating that Banks "deserves" to be going through a professional and media failure.
“I think the fact that she refuses to apologize is what will cause her to continue to fail, and I think it's great karma for her.”
Banks, for her part, has not issued an official statement responding to these accusations. However, during a speech at the Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards, Tyra acknowledged that the show made mistakes:
“Did we do well? Not at all.. I said some stupid things”
However, she defended her career and the positive impact that, she believes, the show also had:
“I refuse to have my legacy reduced to a few clips on the internet, when we did 24 seasons changing the world.”
Washington's statements revive the debate about the production methods of modeling reality shows and the impact they have on the mental and physical health of their participants.
