at home work out
abs work out at home!
🩵 traditional sit ups
🩵 plank- i like to do a plank modification (on elbows) a typical plank is done on your hands almost like a push up position and that way is totally ok too! you’ll just want to make sure your wrists, elbows, and shoulders are all lined up! ⬆️
🩵 flutter kicks- heels off the ground. one leg goes up then you switch, alternating legs.
🩵 cross crutches- could also be known as elbow to knee crunch. opposite knee comes to opposite elbow. left knee to right elbow and right knee to left elbow. only shoulders are coming off the ground.
💪🏼you can do this everyday for 30 days and may start to notice a difference
💪🏼other forms of working out will always be more beneficial when seeing progress. but we all have to start some where!
💪🏼your diet will also play a roll in progress
💪🏼some of these you can add weights to.
🔴 listen to your body. stop if something hurts. modifications are always ok!
Hey everyone! So many of us dream of a slim waist and a strong, toned midsection, but let's be real, getting to the gym isn't always an option. That's exactly why I love my at home work out - abs edition -! I used to think I needed fancy equipment or a personal trainer to see results, but I've found that consistency with a few key exercises can make a huge difference. If you're like me and want to feel strong and confident without leaving your living room, you're in the right place. These core exercises aren't just about looking good; they're about building functional strength that helps with everything from posture to daily activities. When you focus on moves like planks, sit-ups, flutter kicks, and cross crunches, you're engaging your entire core. Planks are amazing for deep core stability, really cinching in that waistline. Flutter kicks target the lower abs, which can be tricky to hit, helping to smooth out that area. Traditional sit-ups and cross crunches work your rectus abdominis and obliques, giving you that sculpted look. I remember when I first started, even holding a plank for 30 seconds felt impossible, but with practice, it gets so much easier! To really achieve that slim waist and maintain a toned midsection, it's not just about the workout itself. Here are a few things I've learned on my journey: Consistency is Key, but Listen to Your Body: The original post mentioned doing this for 30 days, and I totally agree! Small, consistent efforts add up. However, never push through pain. If something hurts, modify the exercise or take a rest day. There’s no shame in starting slow or adjusting. Fueling Your Body: As mentioned before, diet plays a huge role. I'm not talking about restrictive diets, but rather focusing on whole, unprocessed foods. Lots of lean protein, fruits, veggies, and healthy fats will support your muscle growth and help shed any excess fat that might be hiding your amazing abs. Hydration is also super important! Progressive Overload, Even at Home: For women who are used to gym routines, you know the importance of challenging your muscles. You can do this at home too! Once 15-20 reps or 1 minute feels easy, try adding more sets, increasing hold times for planks, or even incorporating light weights if you have them. For flutter kicks, you can try extending your legs further or doing slower, more controlled movements. Warm-up and Cool-down: Don't skip these! A quick 5-minute warm-up (like jumping jacks or dynamic stretches) gets your blood flowing and prepares your muscles. A cool-down with static stretches helps prevent soreness and improves flexibility. I always make sure to stretch my abs after my workout! Integrate with Other Movements: While this is an "abs edition," remember that overall fitness helps. Combining this ab routine with some cardio (even a brisk walk!) and strength training for other body parts will give you the best results for a strong, healthy body, not just a slim waist. My personal tip? Find a workout buddy or join an online challenge. The accountability makes a huge difference! And remember, every body is different, so celebrate your progress, no matter how small. You are strong, and you've got this!
