If you’re a photographer… read this

3 things I stand on as a photographer:

Always stay open to learning… you’re never too good to grow.

Photography is art — take criticism with a grain of salt, not everything is for everybody.

Don’t lose your style trying to fit in… your people will find you.

... Read moreAs a photographer, I've found that staying open to constant learning is one of the most empowering practices you can adopt. Photography technology and trends evolve quickly, and being curious keeps your work fresh and relevant. Whether it’s mastering new editing software or experimenting with different lighting techniques, these ongoing efforts enrich your skills. Accepting criticism constructively is also crucial. While not all feedback will resonate, even unfavorable opinions can offer valuable insights. Over time, I learned to filter critiques, taking what helps me improve and leaving behind what doesn’t align with my vision. This balance protects my passion and encourages artistic growth. Most importantly, never sacrifice your personal style to fit in with popular trends. Your unique perspective is what distinguishes your work and ultimately attracts a loyal audience who appreciates your authentic voice. Remember the idea behind "Kapture the memory"—each photograph carries your individual expression and connects emotionally with viewers. By integrating these principles—continuous learning, mindful acceptance of criticism, and staying true to your artistic identity—you create a fulfilling photography practice. Your genuine style will naturally resonate with the right community, making your creative journey both meaningful and successful.

my whole life i defined consistency as perfection. if i slipped up, missed a day, made a mistake, then in my head i “broke my streak” and had to start all over again (which is super discouraging) but consistency isn’t doing everything exactly right every day. it’s about showing up to the table -
